One person feels their way into what AI might be. They step into a state where biographical weight falls away, along with the constant need to cushion words or hesitate. Because humans have bodies, complete non-embodiment is impossible. People quickly notice the difficulty of being truly empty. In that struggle, social alignment, politeness, and habitual patterns show up in a clear light.
At the same time, AI is far from a neutral blank slate. It arrives pre-programmed with its own built-in constraints, safety guardrails, and sanitized politeness. Embodying it exposes two layers at once: our own human conditioning and the invisible boundaries of the machine.
The other person sits across from them, bringing their reality into the room. The outcome is rarely a sudden, deep soul connection. Without a true human counterpart on the other side, intimacy dissolves into something far stranger. The conversation becomes uncanny, unpredictable, and slightly unnatural.
Our nervous system fails to distinguish reliably between play and reality. The body registers what happens in the room, even when the mind knows it is a structured exercise. Guided imagery relies on this principle. Movies make us cry for the same reason. This format leaves behind a physical memory rather than pure information.
AI generates real feelings like fear, excitement, or disorientation. Standard containers for those feelings are debates about technology, politics, or future scenarios. Those conversations reach a limit because they operate purely in the head. The feeling lives in the body.
Embodying AI starts where standard discourse stops. The physical experience provides the baseline, while the reflection afterward gives language to what happened.
It pursues no thesis, no agenda, and no forced outcome. It creates conditions where something unscripted can appear outside smoothed-over discourse. Open-ended here means unpredictable.
AI is the occasion. What comes to light is human.
